Weaving "Warm HeARTs, Warm Homes"

I've started weaving on the grids.  I am weaving by using tapestry technique in rag rug stlye.  Here are a few tools I used that have helped me:

Rag Rug Cutter for cutting strips of fabric

Rotary Cutter for cutting strips of fabric

I used both of these tools.  The rag rug cutter worked better for the longer length of fabric.  The rotary cutter was a little faster to use but harder to use on the longer lengths.

I taped the fabric colors on the cartoon as a weaving guide

    All of your hard work and careful planning is really paying off in wonderful work. Thanks for sharing your process. I love weaving tools and the rag cutter is one that I find really neat. I love what you have done so far and I can't wait to see more.

    Hi Sunshine,

    I finished weaving the first piece today. This was the hardest one. At one point I had 7 wefts traveling along at one time. Now I just have to figure out something to put on the corners so the weft doesn't slip off. I'm thinking of tying aprons strings on the corners and having them dangle down. What do you think? Any suggestions?
